I used to think life was all about adding new things, doing more, and extending myself to be involved in more things. I used to think that success was tied to adding more good things.
Adding:
• more income
• good workouts
• positive experiences
• positive relationships
I’ve come to find out that the most powerful and effective power moves are the ones where you’re eliminating certain things from your life. After adding a ton, you get experience to know what you do and don’t know, what you do and don’t like, etc. Adding is the way to live life when you’re young and trying to figure out who you are.
Eliminating is a move where you clearly state your boundaries and make a conscious decision to get rid of what’s not working. It’s how you ultimately shape your life.
We are what we say no to.
Eliminating:
• toxic people
• toxic food
• toxic social follows
• toxic thoughts
• unnecessary expenses
