Seek to Understand

When you’re talking to someone, do you seek to understand or do you seek to react?

99.99% of people now a days want to hear what other’s have to say simply so they can react with their own thoughts.

Now, I’m a big fan of conversation don’t get me wrong.

Conversation is the way to change.

But conversation is a back and forth. An open discussion. No judgement, simply learning.

We want change and we want people to be more informed, but we won’t let people change their mind or ask dumb questions without giving them the top 5 reasons their thinking is wrong in an aggressive tone.

We desire to be right.

We desire to be seen as people who know exactly what’s going on this world and exactly what is right and what is wrong.

But the reality is no one knows what the hell is going on. (Stray away from people who believe they do at all costs).

Right and wrong is more of a gray area than anyone really would like.

Conversation now a days is more of a lecture. And the lecturers have no idea what they’re talking about.

Seek to understand, not react.

Watch your relationships strengthen, your curiosity heightened, and your inner peace fulfilled.
