Miles 0 to 10

Last weekend, I ran 26.2 miles on Friday.

I’m training for a 50 mile race in December.

What I’m finding from mile 0 to 10 is that I’m wishing away those miles to get to something ‘better’ which are miles 13+.

Miles 13+ I feel great and accomplished.

Miles 0 to 10 I’m just waiting on that feeling.

It caused me to think, why can’t I enjoy 0 to 10 as well? Why can’t I take a step back and realize that without 0 to 10, there will be no 13+?

In life, I do this too.

I wish away Monday – Thursday to get to a weekend filled with celebration and relaxation.

But why can’t I enjoy Monday – Thursday just as much as the weekend?

Wouldn’t that make for an objectively better life?

To appreciate Monday – Thursday for what they are. A reason to celebrate.

In wishing away days, you being to wish away chunks of life.

I’m working on appreciating mile 0 to 10 for what they are.

And not wishing away life.
