I’m listening this audiobook:
A great line that’s really stuck with me is how they’re diving into how past experiences as a child can lead to not just emotional trauma, but how it can impact the chemistry of your brain, leading to various ways of being/acting/coping.
The line that stuck out is when they transform the typical, “what is wrong with you?” into asking someone or yourself “what happened to you?”
I know that kinda seems like the same sentence, but one implies no control (“what is wrong with you?”) and the other implies control (“what happened to you?”)
It’s a really good way to view life personally.
By not chalking issues up as “this is just how I am” into “this is the result of some trauma or experience in my life, let me figure that out” you become the one with the power.

Eddie- Lifechanging book. Must read
The Body Keeps the Score.
It talks about how trauma reshapes both the body and brain. Is about childhood trauma and how that trauma has BOTH physical and psychological consequences, childhood trauma effects everything from sleep and digestion to relationships and emotional regulation.
