Pressure can make you stronger.
Or it can break you.
For me, pressure breaks me when I try to control everything. Even the things totally out of my control.
The issue is, attempting to control is my natural go to for some reason. Meaning, that’s what I fall back to.
At work, I need to own every single deliverable that goes out the door, even if it’s something small. That leads to me wasting time on low impact work, spending less time on high impact work.
With family or friends, I want to jump in and control other’s decisions at times. Or at least, I get upset/flustered with other’s decisions. That leads me to spending a lot of mental energy upset at the actions of others, spending less time on my own decisions.
The list goes on, but pressure is something heavily felt. It’s on me to navigate it appropriately, as I wouldn’t trade that pressure for the world.
It means I care.
